Why do I yearn to write poems?
Like an undercurrent
Slowly emerging out of the
unconscious mind
I am caught up in this
mysterious swirl
A yearning that is
unexplainable dwells somewhere in my body, mind and soul
There is no denying its
existence
It is as real as the breath
of air in my lungs
It gives me the light to open
curtains of darkness
And the footprints to store
my insanity (& sanity)
Why do I yearn to write
poems?
I think it's the sign that my
soul is satieted
It is inflated with
knowledge, understanding and wisdom
It just wants to brighten the
outer world
To make you smile with joy
Or to jolt your memory and
open hidden pathways to healing the brokenheartedness
Poetry is a form of my inner
being
That is stirred and rises to
the surface
It is the unknown breaking
through the walls of life
Tunneling a path into the
known cosmic pie
Poetry is an open sky of
consciousness
It brings gusts of painful
moments
And rips through the dry
garment of our mental energies
Giving us a moment of ecstasy
Poetry is the story from the
bottom of my heart
Painted on the canvas of life
Why do I yearn to write
poems?
It is because I yearn to be
you and us
To hold your hand and give
you the sacred Light
So that we can all be the
fabric of the Spirit
The Substance of Being is
Unconditional Love
