حين رحل أبي باكرا
في حرب حزيران الأسود
تحولت أمنا إلى حمامة.
تطير في أولى خطوط الفجر.
تاركة فراخا تتخبط في العش
سابلة جناحيها على السهول الفسيحة..
تلاحقها الكواسر وبوم الدوق الكبير..
شمس أغسطس الحارقة..
صيادون ببنادق فصيحة جدا..
نواقيس أعيننا الصاخبة..
صلواتنا برائحة النعنع البري..
البائسة، بدهاء منقطع النظير..
ترواغ هذا الكم الهائل من العثرات..
بصليب من النور على ظهرها..
ومسامير مرشوقة في العظام..
ودم رسولي يزرب من كاحلها..
يتساقط ريشها الذهبي
ندفا ندفا في الهواء..
وآخر النهار تغشى عشنا
بسلة ملآى بالفواكه والدرر..
نتقاسمها مرفرفين مثل ملائكة..
سعداء بهذا الزائر العلوي
متدافعين متطاولين مثل نبات اللبلاب..
لترتمي لاحقا أمنا المتعبة جدا
على سرير من القش والدموع..
كتلة من العذاب الخالص.

When my dad passed away
In the Black June War
Our mother turned into a pigeon
Flies in the first rays of dawn
Leaving chicks floundering in the nest
Flapping her wings on the vast plains
Pursued by the raccoons and the owls of
the Grand Duke
The blazing sun of August
Hunters with very sophisticated rifles
Our noisy eye bells
Our prayers -with smell of wild mint-
Miserable, with peerless canniness,
Dodging this huge amount of pitfalls
With a cross of light on its back
And screws smashed into the bones
And apostolic blood flows from her ankle.
Its golden feathers are falling
Thin flakes in the air...
And at the end of the day, overcomes our
net
A basket full of fruits and pearls
We share it, flapping like angels
Happy with this heavenly visitor
Jostling and elongating like ivy...
So as to rest later our very tired mother
On a bed of straw and tears
A mass of pure agony.
