Kenneth Maswabi
Poetry is not a storm
Like a breeze
It is a voiceless voice
With footprints of Silence
Poetry inhabits not the mind
It is the body, mind and soul that hold
it still
In its true entirety, poetry cannot be
defined
As it has no meaning and has every
meaning
Poetry is not a storm that destroys hope
It is a strong tranquilizer that
nourishes peace
In its tracks, there is plenty of joy,
sorrow and more joy
It cannot submerge you in ecstasy unless
you are free
From the mental hardwired commotions
The logical mind's tricks are an anathema
to the poetic spirit
Poetry needs a loose composure, an
unrestricted appetite for the mysterious sacred substance of knowledge,
understanding and wisdom
Poetry is a pure form of knowing, not
restricted by the uncertainty principles
It is a tasteful nectar that nourishes
the soul
Suffusing the spirit with the sacred
Light
Encapsulating the substance of being with
peace
