Patriot, revolutionary, general, he was the
most illustrious representative of the Creole people of Buenos Aires and one of
the protagonists of the Emancipation from the Crown of Spain of that Territory
then called "" ARGENTINA ""
Son of a merchant of Italian origin
he was able to come into contact with the
ideas of the Enlightenment, at the time of the French Revolution, during his
stay in Spain for studies. On his return
to his homeland he tried to bring these New Ideals, but he encountered many
difficulties. He participated in the
defense of Buenos Aires following the British invasion, as well as in the May
Revolution and the Argentine War of Independence. In 1812 he created the Argentine Flag in the
city of Rosario, after defeating the Spanish in Tucuman, in fact declaring the Independence of the
United Provinces of the Rio della Plata.
He advocated Values and
Principles of RESPECT for Human Dignity, including:
Power to the Rulers is conferred
by the PEOPLE, the only
depositary"
This is the Beacon of Liberal Enlightenment.
As well as the COMMON GOOD,
considered by him to be of great ethical value, such as:
Health, Education, Work and Religion which
represent the cornerstones of a free nation.
He was buried in the Convent
of San Domenico, dressed in the habit of the Dominican Order.

Dreamer and Argentine Patriot
He loved the Earth so much
who had welcomed him
like a son,
to fight for hem until his death,
on a warm noor of early summer.
To better complete your studies
he had wanted to live
in a changing Europe
under a blowing wind
like fiery lava.
They professed
liberal enlightenment ideas
to make the whole world,
better and equal for
all.
Finally, he returned to his
homeland
with him he wanted to bring
those Noble Ideals
to liberate his country
from a Spain
that his dominion wanted,
very obvious, keep.
He wanted to disclose
a very poignant message:
Love the country
with attachment around a flag
All United.
And even more :
the Power to every Ruler
was conferred
by the will of the
people,
accompanied by the Blessing
of divine protection
