Who gave him permission?
To hold the knife over life's vital organs
Spilling human blood in the name of an ideology
Who gave him permission?
To order mankind into the slaughterhouse of his
barbaric thoughts
And unleash a vindictive war against the innocent
Who gave him permission?
To sit high above the clouds of human conscience
Immunized against despair and sorrow
He throws his arrows at the human spirit
Crushing the torn ligaments of our collective
consciousness
Who gave him permission?
To amass such powers
That causes a dilution of dialogue and diplomacy
Dissipates order and propagates disorder
Who gave him permission?
To open the book of the sacred knowledge of pain and
sorrow
And teach it to the children of the world with such
recklessness
Who gave him permission?
To be the sole arbitrator in the tussle between life
and death
Favoring the stench of death over life
It is us...in our carelessness
We appointed him to rule over the mechanisms
Of human suffering
We made him the Prince of Darkness
We created a monster out of the scattered pieces of
our own wickedness
We abandoned our children, allowing his appetite for
evil to grow and for him to devour the innocent
We fled from our roles of justice and empathy
Making him the sole manufacturer of injustice and
turmoil
We created this cruel monster
