Pieces of us
Let not the coil of bitterness tear us apart
The venom in our veins is tearing us asunder
Swallowing the bond between us
With its darkness, scattering our senses
We are now searching for pieces of us
Those chunks of our hearts that used to care
The bits and pieces of our love are now scattered
Inside this erupting volcano of our emotions
Where did we go wrong? Which lessons did we miss?
We were not perfect but we were dreamers
Always following the footsteps of our dreams
We ploughed through difficult times
Our boat was not blown away by those ferocious storms
Our hearts kept beating the drums of unconditional Love
Always filled with the beautiful spirit of our dreams
We were seekers in the ocean of love
Always seeing the best in each other
We were young and sometimes reckless
But we held onto our senses
Now, we have allowed ourselves to be submerged in bitterness
There is a gnawing pain in our hearts
We are gnashing our teeth
Trying to tear each other apart
We are using words as swords
To stab each other's hearts
To erase any semblance of our former selves
It's an armageddon of our love
