An Winter Evening
Behold some blue roses in the sky
In an winter evening where stars lie
Use I all for the blue, cut a rose off
For the rising moon, my hat I doff
All that's best in an ever dead winter
So dim are earthly roses here so far
The earth is earth and the sky is sky
Both their roses here separately lie
Some are crying & others do laugh
Over all earthly faces, blue does clap
The cloud as queen has a long lapet
Dazzles beneath it a dreamy casket
So cold so tender, yet rends hearts
Of all who are poor in dream carts
Winged is mind that runs too swift
With a paean of love as a winter gift
