AEHAM AHMAD
The story of Aeham Ahmad,
Palestinian pianist
it moved me
quite a bit, at a time when we have time to reflect on the injustices and
arrogances that cause pain.
He had learned to love music
from his father, an excellent blind violinist.
Fled from Palestine, he took
refuge in the camp of Yamouk, near Damascus.
But he too had to flee from
there when the Isis rebels burned his piano.

the Palestinian Pianist
He loved music so much,
to challenge
even the hissing of weapons
and the sound of bombs
which they brought with them
death and destruction.
So he decided,
with melancholy in my heart
and a burden
of misery on the shoulders,
to leave that country
to show everyone the great pain
even those
which were turned sideways
to ignore so many atrocities
and then be upset
from absolute absence
some humanity.
That bag of misery and of pain
went around with him
to speak with melodious notes
of PEACE and HOPE
in a Better World,
fairer and more humane
among
all the inhabitants
of the planet.
